Fundamentals

Feeling a little nervous? Our Fundamentals experience is perfect for those who want to build confidence before riding. You’ll learn about the tack (the equipment used on the horse) and the basics of horse riding, including how to hold the reins, steer, and stop—before putting your new skills into practice on one of our horses!

The actual ride ride time is approximately 10 minutes, but please allow 50 minutes for the full experience, including a safety video, helmet fitting, and groundwork.

Riders must wear shoes or boots with a heel (not hiking boots), which are available for hire if needed.

Introductory Ocean View Trail

The introductory ride is a 30 minute trail for the nervous rider or rider who would prefer to do a shorter trail. Head out on horseback through the rolling hills of our 200 acre property with views of Bass Strait.

Beginner Ocean View Trail

The beginner ride is a 50 min trail that takes you for a nice relaxing stroll on horseback through the rolling hills of our 200 acre property with beautiful views of Bass Strait. The perfect way for the not so nervous beginner to experience horse riding!

Intermediate Ocean View Trail

The Intermediate ride is a 50 min trail is the next step up from our beginner trail. Head out on horseback through the rolling hills of our 200 acre property experience the beautiful views of Bass Strait. Our Intermediate Trail gives you the opportunity to try some trotting as well!

You must have ridden before to join the Intermediate Ocean View Trail.

Experienced Ocean View Trail

The Experienced Ocean View Trail is a 50 min ride that takes you beautiful the rolling hills, discovering the best views of the property! This ride is a great option for those with riding experience, who are wanting to take their ride to the next level with some cantering.

Limited to 5 riders max.

Advanced Ocean View Trail

Experience the thrill of our exhilarating 50 min Advanced Ocean View Trail ride, winding through the picturesque rolling hills of our expansive 200-acre property. Exclusive to seasoned riders, this adventure promises excitement for those who are capable and confident in their equestrian skills.

Limited to 5 riders max.

Bush 'n' Beach

The Bush ‘n’ Beach ride is an approximately 3 hour intermediate – experienced trail that takes you through the rolling hills of the property before heading down to St Andrews Beach. This ride offers an unforgettable experience!

Limited to 6 riders max.

STRONG INTERMEDIATE – ADVANCED RIDERS ONLY: WALK & TROT RIDE (THERE MAY BE THE OPPORTUNITY TO CANTER)

Riding Lessons

Perfect for beginners or those wanting to refresh their skills, our lessons focus on building confidence and strong foundations with support from our experienced, friendly instructors.

Offered on Friday afternoons, lessons are available as 30-minute private sessions or 45-minute semi-private sessions (for two riders). Open to ages 7 and up, including adults, these sessions are a fun and safe way to connect with horses and improve your riding.

Whether you’re new to the saddle or getting back in the stirrups, The Ranch is the perfect place to ride, learn, and grow.

Ride & Wine Package

Saddle up for a scenic Ocean View Trail Ride, taking in stunning coastal views on horseback with our experienced guides.

After your ride, head to Tallarida Vineyard—a boutique, family-run winery on the Mornington Peninsula, known for its handcrafted cool-climate wines. Relax at their welcoming cellar door with a guided tasting and a delicious cheese platter.

The perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and indulgence—ideal for a special occasion or a day out with friends.

Ride & Bathe Package

Head out on your choice of our on property rides or bush n’ beach rides (by request) before making your way to Peninsula Hot Springs to sooth your muscles with a bath house revitalise booking.
This extended bathing experience designed for you to relax and reconnect as you explore our Bath House. Take your time to explore a range of bathing and wellness experiences, available from 5am to 11pm.

The Ranch to Hawkes Farm Gate Trail

NEW RIDE – Launching initially for INTERMEDIATE riders, with beginner sessions to follow in the future.

Saddle up for a unique trail ride from The Ranch to the Hawkes Farm gate, combining a scenic horse ride with a Mornington Peninsula favourite, Hawkes Farm’s famous hot chips!

This unique experience runs for approximately 2 hours, including the ride to Hawkes Farm and back to The Ranch, with a 30-minute stop at Hawkes Farm to relax and enjoy their famous hot chips before getting back in the saddle for the ride home.

Requirements: Intermediate riders only, shoes or boots with a heel (hire available), maximum weight of 100 kg and minimum age of 10 years.
