JODI’S JAM – September 2026

A bit of a change in gears this month.

I was invited to participate in a small business roundtable with Jane Hume and Zoe McKenzie to share experiences and challenges and explore how they can advocate on behalf of small businesses. 

We donated our hall for the Boneo Barn Dance – the first of its kind for a Boneo Primary School Fundraiser. Everyone learnt how to line dance and it was a lot of fun!

This month was all about progressing our masterplan staging strategy so we can move one step closer to starting with Stage 1 – Stay tuned. We’re getting closer and it’s VERY exciting. 

I attended a Women In Business workshop facilitated by Dianne Dickson from Brightside Advisory Co.  Finance Basics –  know your numbers. With growth and stability in mind, the message was clear “the businesses that grow with confidence are the ones that know their numbers.” And knowing the difference between profit and cash will change how you plan. 

We said a final farewell to Todd by enjoying an afternoon at Rattlers Saloon in Mornington. Fun times for his last ride at The Ranch. Once again wishing Todd all the best on his next adventure and excited for the newbies who are commencing their journey at The Ranch. 

Az and I attended a Corporate Merch Expo hosted by Cheeta Teamwear and Productology at Moondog Brewery. It was great to meet the faces behind the names we’ve been working with and to get ideas for merch and gifting. It was a very successful outing with both of us winning the first and second place door prize… a little embarrassing 😬

I finished off the month with an Agritourism Forum held by Kate Shilling from Tourism Australia. This was a really insightful presentation of stats, interest and opportunities for local businesses to attract international visitors. Definitely a lot of food for thought which left me reeling with a few key opportunities that we could do at The Ranch.
